Master's degree in Education or Healthcare or related area preferred Or Master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours in Education, Healthcare or related area preferred.

Bachelor's degree with RHIA or Bachelor degree in Healthcare with RHIT or Bachelor degree with coding credential from AHIMA or AAPC accepted.

Current AHIMA Health Information Management credential RHIT or RHIA, CCS or CCS-P and/or American Academy of Professional Coder (AAPC) credential CPC, CIC, CPC-P required.

* Education must be received from a regionally accredited institution.

Two years of teaching experience preferred.

Commitment to the college objective of providing instruction for a diverse student population. Excellent interpersonal, oral communication and writing skills. Knowledge of learning and assessment theories and methods and the relationship to the pedagogy of teaching. Possess a high level of technical skills and subject matter knowledge as it relates to a specific discipline. Evidence of initiative, resourcefulness and adaptability.
