GAI Consultants, Inc.'s Central Florida group is currently seeking a Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) Senior Project Engineer to join the Orlando, FL team. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment that will utilize their related experience to develop professionally and grow in today's global environment.

Duties Include:

  • Manage CEI teams on highway road and bridge projects for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and other clients.
  • Direct highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection programs.
  • Plan and organize the work of subordinate and staff members.
  • Actively market projects and lead proposal preparation.
  • Manage existing client relationships and develop new clients with the firm.
  • Oversee completeness and accuracy of project team's work by actively supervising and guiding team to overall project objectives.
  • Assign responsibilities and build schedules based on project specifications.
  • Design and conduct tests to determine project progress.
  • Determine and stay within budget.
  • Work with outside vendors.
  • Report to management on progress.
  • Recommend plan schedule changes when needed.
  • Comply with state and federal regulations and ensure a clean, safe environment.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
  • May act as a lead or first level supervisor.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering Management, Civil Engineering or related engineering field from an ABET accredited college or university. PE license required in the state of Florida.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelors of Construction Engineering (required)

Experience
12 - 16 years: Related experience. (required)
Experience serving as Senior Project Engineer or similar construction management position on FDOT Roadway and Bridge Construction Projects. (required)

Licenses & Certifications
Driver's License (required)
